Menopause happens to everyone with ovaries, but even the word can still make the best of us uncomfortable. And if you believe the ads? Menopause is all about crisp white shirts and grey haired women laughing into their coffee. Menopause needs a rebrand.
Brought to you by Menopause With Grace, The Fan Club community is your safe place to learn – and even laugh – about menopause and be empowered to look after your body and mind.

2 million Australian women have recently experienced menopause, with 80,000 more joining the ranks each year. Research shows many women won’t ask a health professional for advice about menopause1 – and a lack of awareness means symptoms can go unrecognised and untreated.
The Fan Club community brings together the best in real life stories, research and chat, without the BS.

A year ago, corporate high-achiever Grace Zielinski took an unplanned career break.
She didn’t know that the symptoms she had were signs of menopause.
Now, she’s on a mission to rebrand and rethink menopause.
Let’s talk menopause, baby!

one of the last
workplace taboos.
Women are ready
to talk but there’s
no-one listening.
That stops now.”

menopause is

Menopause is *technically* when your period has stopped for more than a year. Some people refer to it in hushed tones as ‘The Change’.
In Japan, there’s no direct word for menopause.
The closest term is Konenki, which means ‘renewal of life’.
“At 40, you don’t
think of yourself as
getting old. At that
age, you can get
pregnant. Or you can
be menopausal.”

At 45, Grace had a challenging and rewarding career as a corporate high-achiever. Not to mention family life, with kids aged five and seven, keeping her busy.
But something wasn’t quite right.
Grace had lost her confidence at work. She felt
indecisive, overwhelmed and tired.
When she decided to take an unplanned career break, she still didn’t know she was experiencing menopause.
She just knew she couldn’t work through her symptoms anymore.
She left her job to focus on her health. And what she discovered was a revelation.
We don’t talk about the symptoms - they’re a shock to the system.
We don’t talk about feeling forced out of work - we’ve never not been needed before.
We don’t talk about what could help - how awareness, policies
and education could make a difference.
Grace was shocked by the shame that arrived with menopause; no wonder it’s taboo – no one understands it.
